Letter Gothic

　最近、エクセルで表を作るときに気に入っているのが 数字のデータを "Letter Gothic" というフォントで表示すること。

　縦長でかつ線が細い固定幅のフォントなのでとても見やすい。OS標準のフォントに含まれているかどうか分からないらしい。プリンターのドライバーに同梱されることがあるそうだ。

　Download Letter Gothic Font Family - Linotype.com によると、1962年に Roger Roberson によってIBMのために作られたフォントだそうだ。Optima という素晴らしく美麗なフォントに影響されているとか。表組み（tabular）にお勧めだそうだ。

Letter Gothic font was designed by Roger Roberson for IBM sometime between 1956 and 1962. Inspired by Optima, the typeface originally had flared stems. A monospaced sans serif font designed for use on an IBM Selectric typewriter, Letter Gothic font is a good choice for tabular material.
